behaviours

If your pup seems anxious or agitated we have a 'calm zone', indoor spaces & other venues around the square.

Please ask our volunteers for advice as your pets safety is our main concern

Weather safety

Expect anything & be prepared!

We will have sunscreen & paw/nose balm (for your pets) alongside fresh water & shaded areas around the square.

If there is rain or high winds - our volunteers may direct you towards our indoor venues around the square.

Children

We are a child-friendly event but as with your pets - be responsible for the safety of your own children & be aware of how some dogs may react - please always ask owners if it is ok for children to approach.

Accessibility

The square has 4 entrances & is accessible via all 4 entrances. There will be volunteers to avoid crowds & bottle-necking. There are toilets within the square & accessible toilets within The Arzner.

Local information

The Square is accessible via bus, tube, taxi & on foot.

There will be gated areas around the square to provide a safer environment for your pet but please be aware we are surrounded by busy traffic areas (so please ensure your dog is on a lead).

FAQ's

Can I bring my pup if they are anxious or nervous?

f your dog is uncomfortable around other dogs we would recommend attending without your pup. We wish to provide a safe & social sexperience for all.

We are providing a calming space for pups but spaces will be limited & if your dog shows any signs of disruption  - our volunteers may suggest it necessary to leave the event.

Are all size & ages of dog breeds welcomed?

We welcome all dogs provided they are over 14 weeks of age, ssocial & would reccomend that all dogs are up to date with their preventative treatments (fleas, worms & vaccinations).

We would also suggest that no females in heat attend.

Will there be food & water available for my dog?

Yes. There will be opportunities for sampling treats & fresh water available. We would suggest that you may wish to provide your own bowl. Please ask our volunteers for further queries.

My dog has allergies - can I still attend?

As there will be opportunities for pups to sample treats at stands & venues we recommend you being alert as to people (especially children) treating your dog & be aware of any food on the floor.

Can I attend without a dog?

Absolutely!

We would also suggest no cats be in attendance (we have been asked already)!

Is there local parking available?

The parking within the local area is limited but there are several larger car parks within the general area.

Are there places to eat indoors?

Yes there are multiple venues around the square that will be serving food, drink & alcohol. Our volunteers can direct you.

Please keep your dog on a lead at all times within the venue.

Do I have to pay to attend the show?

Attending the show is free of charge. To enter the raffle or the dog show there is a small fee that goes towards our 2 charities of choice (cash & credit are available on site).

Please note that Bermondsey Square is a small venue so the volunteers or security may ask you to wait or alternatively move along to avoid blocking, bottle-necking & for safety.

Local police will also be in attendance.
